Lost Honor?

17 Jul

Gen. Ray Odierno, the Army chief of staff says that the battle to defeat the Islamic State (ISIS) will last “10 to 20 years” — longer than previously indicated by the Obama administration.

“In my mind, ISIS is a 10-to-20-year problem, it’s not a two-year’s problem.  Now, I don’t know what level it will be a problem, but it’s a long-term problem.”

Now this is in direct conflict with what we were told in October by Obama’s “Boy”, Army Gen. Lloyd Austin, who predicted that the jihadists would be “much degraded” by airstrikes a year from then. The administration has said ‘three to five’ years.

Take a look.  Nuff said?

Odierno’s comments Friday marked the longest — and most specific — time frame a White House official has placed on the anti-ISIS effort.

“I think in order to defeat ISIL, it’s going to take longer than that. This movement is growing right now, and so I think it’s going to take us a bit longer than we originally thought.”

Odierno cautioned, however, that military action cannot solely annihilate the Islamic State.

“To defeat them, is not just a military issue,” he told reporters. “It is an economic issue. It is a diplomatic issue. It is an issue of moderate versus extremists and it is about also, potentially, having the capability to root them out of the places they now hold in Iraq and Syria.”

Unfortunately (for us?), he is retiring next month. Why is it that this administration, which all but began the Arab Spring, formed the ISIS, and fostered arms deals from Benghazi (resulting in the deaths of American citizens) to Syria, continues to half-truth the American people with lies and deceptions?  Why did Obama just sign a nuclear ‘clearance’ treaty with Iran?  And why did we just lose four Marines at a homeland base?

Is it not time to purge unscrupulous, power and ego driven “Yes Men” from the highest ranks of our once proud and honorable military?  Is it not past time we regained the honor we have so willing ceded?

If I, or any sane person, were in charge, we wouldn’t be importing ISIS and so ISIS wouldn’t be our problem. We could sit back and sell arms to those who are fighting them in the Middle East.

Exactly! We fight. We bleed. We win. Then we bring their bitter, ignorant, survivors here to dwell among us. What is wrong with us?

Unfortunately, getting rid of the “yes men” in the upper ranks is nearly as impossible as voting the poli-whores outta office. They are all congressionally approved and appointed so of course our military is ran by politiclly motivated stooges. And the ones that weren’t such are LOONNNNGGGGG gone.

The military is down to 480,000, with another cut of 40,000 due soon. Do those in the Pentagon not realize that they (and their entire families) will be among the first to be executed if we lose this country? Even traitors don’t go astray, knowing the executioner is a given. Yet, our so-called military leaders are doing just that. What morons! They should all be in Leavenworth.
