Yes, BUT. Didn’t he back away from most of this while in Iowa? I don’t expect any Politician to do what is right. They forgot how to do this long, long, ago.

Still better than the supposedly conservative GOP.

    Sound familiar?

‘Walter Scott, in his Life of Napoleon Bonaparte observes:

The name of king being pronounced detestable, all the remembrances of royalty were to be destroyed. . . . The royal sepulchers at St.-Denis, near Paris, the ancient cemetery of the Bourbons, the Valois, and all the long line of French monarchs, were not only defaced on the outside, but utterly broken down, the bodies exposed, the bones dispersed, and the poor remains, even of Henry IV of Navarre, so long the idol of the French nation, exposed to the rude gaze, and irreverent grasp, of the banditti who committed the sacrilege.

The revolutionaries wanted to make the past, even more than the future, a tabula rasa on which they could scrawl their puerile obscenities.’

While we don’t have royalty, we do have historical heroes such as General Nathaniel Forrest who is in danger of being dug up.

Man is certainly capable of committing such acts. It is easier to trample on the past than to change the future. In America today, we see nothing but lazy people. Lazy, uneducated, and unprincipled. Those caught committing such acts should be subject to severe punishment.
