Has the time come?

02 Dec

At least, in NY, it may have.  Like shades from Bracken’s book, Enemies Foreign & Domestic.

The first step?   And this being done without a stadium massacre!

Is the time is rapidly approaching when all New Yorkers will have to begin moving, burying, and caching their weapons?  (At least the one’s that their elected officials deems illegal?)

To all NY’ers:  Be careful of your Doctors and nurses.  They cannot be trusted with your personal information any longer.  The State is monitoring your private health records and it is against the ‘law’ for your physicians to not report.

The notice provides gun owners, who possess firearms now prohibited under New York’s unconstitutional SAFE Act, the “options” to either surrender their firearms to the police, remove them from the city limits or otherwise render them inoperable…

The SAFE Act, which was passed by the state legislature and signed by the governor on the same day in January, has numerous, draconian provisions including, but not limited to:

– Outright ban of magazines holding over 10 rounds

– Restriction on more than seven rounds being loaded into a magazine; the limited exceptions do not include home defense

– Mandatory background checks for ammunition

– The creation of a firearms registry for what the state considers “assault weapons”

– A requirement for firearm permit holders to fill out a form to keep the state from publicly identifying them

“John Doe, an upstanding professional with no outstanding criminal convictions and no history of violent action received a letter from the Pistol Permit Department informing him that his license was immediately revoked upon information that he was seeing a therapist for anxiety and had been prescribed an anxiety drug. He was never suicidal, never violent, and has no criminal history. The New York State Department of Health is apparently conducting a search of medical records to determine who is being treated for anxiety drugs and using this as a basis for handgun license revocation.”

It IS time for all New Yorkers to begin whatever activities they deem necessary to remove the Tyrant from elected offices, and his minion, the bureaucrat, from his publicly provided space, while it is still possible to do so, without violence.
.
We already knew that the VA was doing this with our veterans, but NY is the first to do it to the general public.
.
The times, they are a changin.

Soffitrat I can see this spreading state to state like a windblown wildfire. How many people are ready for a winter campaign?

It would be a nice touch if those receiving such letters would return them with the words “Molon Labe” scrawled across the page in large letters. The recipients probably will not know what the words mean but they will soon learn.

    The entire world will know.

I agree. If they (the first) don’t stand up for themselves, it makes everyone’s job harder. If they stand, they set the course and others will gladly follow and even step things up a notch. The Tyrants will change their ways, or flee.

Yes my friend…imagine this time around, 230 years later, it all starts over in NY! At the start of the war, New York City ranked second in population (25,000) while the state had approximately 182,000. New York state figured prominently in the Revolutionary War as our history shows.

Perhaps the New Yorkers will do it again if the regimes, state & federal, keep pushing the people around like they were indentured peasants.

I believe we might see the dominoes fall then and hundreds of thousands come to their aid from all across the country!

It will be interesting to see how New York’s gun owners fight this. I don’t think they will, as a whole. They don’t have the demographic clout to elect gun-rights supporters. And right now it seems that New York is selectively targeting gun owners to prevent a widespread backlash. It’s easy to ignore an issue when it’s the other guy who faces the direct threat.

Rather than fight against these laws, gun owners in New York will probably flee their state or meekly cooperate. Or figure out ways to ignore the law without getting caught.

Janus you are probably right, my last post I fear might have been wishful drivel on my part! No doubt the anti-2nd Amendment gang in NY will want to quash any such movement before it gets off the ground and possibly gain some momentum.

I would think that most of the 2nd backers already have second homes in States other than NY. They will collapse, the same as Illinois, Michigan, California, and Oregon http://www.foxnews.com/us/2013/12/03/oregon-girl-told-cant-sell-mistletoe-but-can-beg-for-money/?intcmp=latestnews. Washington (with their assault against Boeing) is not far behind. Yet, they keep passing more and more destructive laws. Not even trying to save themselves. It’s almost as if those States are trying to take as many down with them as they can. The Kenyan is more than willing to oblige them. Watch him try to bailout Detroit next!

Don’t worry, Dannyboy, the time will come. And when it does, I suspect you’ll marvel that you ever longed for that day!

As NY gun owners aren’t even remotely close to having a voting majority, I’d say the chance of them effecting change “without violence” has approached nil.

Maybe they can just file a lawsuit to assert their 2A rights? Ask Liberty University how effective the courts are at protecting fundamental human rights…

Methinks you are right ML! Also, you Janus. We will rue the day when we wished for this. Even though we all know that it will be the only way left for us to proceed.

What are you thinking?
