Hey Mr. Geen jeans!

21 Oct

Something reminded me of the good old days.   The song just seems so appropriate.

So, here’s a nice big howdy!   Sent out to a special friend.

Ah…I remember that old show! Doesn’t seem like so long ago but it’s been over fifty years since I last recall sitting through episodes of Capt Kangaroo and Mr. Green Jeans! I also recall reading sometime back about Capt Kangaroo serving in the USMC at the end of WWII. Don’t know about Mr. Green Jeans though.

As the saying goes, those were the “good ole days!”

Thank you Soffitrat!! God bless you Brother!

Bob Keeshan joined up, but never saw action. You’re right about the ole days though. I wonder if we had known what was going to happen then, if we’d have done anything different? I’m glad you enjoyed it. I know that I did! Sinatra too!

The fear of speaking out against communism (McCarthyism) probably would not have made a difference in my opinion. Enough people sounded the alarm but many more ignored the threat for fear of being ridiculed.

Sinatra had a voice that was recognized all over the world! He was to the music industry what John Wayne was to movies, an iconic figure and a big influence on many that broke into the big time after him. It has been rumored he was “owned” by the mob and they enhanced his career. I personally believe it to be so, but that doesn’t belie the fact he was a talented star in singing and acting.

There are many reasons why Vegas belongs to the Japanese and Mickey Mouse. But, yes, he was very well acquainted with some reputed people. While they are not as notorious as they used to be, they are still very much alive. Some, like down in Dixie, still make house calls for the right reason or the right amount of money. Most Americans live in a dream world. Unaware of what has actually happened to the country. They intentionally stick their heads up their asses, refusing to look directly at their executioner. Some just shut up. Others lash out, like they are some kind of bad asses. Both are full of shit. What the mob used to call, punks.

What are you thinking?
