True History

“Resistance to tyrants is obedience to God.” ~ Thomas Jefferson

This is a lesson from not too distant history.  One which we should not only be informed and reminded of, but never forgotten.  This is the story of a great Socialist/Progressive, Nicolae Ceausescu (1918-1989).  Do you even remember him, today?

Do the situations which applied to Romania in December of 1989 remind you anything?

“Experience hath shewn, that even under the best forms (of government) those entrusted with power have, in time, and by slow operations, perverted it into tyranny”

The lesson history teaches us is to beware of what comes after the Tyrant is deposed.  There are always more to fill their shoes.

My wife and I just finished watching this, interesting as it brought back many memories I had forgotten. People do not think of the future, only the ‘wants’ of the present. Never thinking of the vacuum left after deposing a leader and who may take his place.

That was my point in putting this up. We are going down. What comes next is of paramount importance. I think that we will have a fight to keep what we have. With, hopefully, just a few tweaks.

What are you thinking?
