Feeding the beast

27 Jul

No doubt, Raytheon has done one hell of a sales job.  No doubt some lobbyist has earned his money (10X’s over).  I have no doubt this system will work well.  But just when do we pay for and deploy such weaponry?  Especially in an economy that is sinking like a rock?

The question is why, when in a state of peace, when our Navy permits Iranian speedboats to drive within range of a .308, when hostilities have not been declared, do we have these?  Even more importantly, why have these flying over Washington D.C.?

Either we have received credible threats, of which the American people have not been apprised of, or I smell a defense industry making a great deal of money as our criminals in D.C. continue to ‘feed the beast’ that Eisenhower warned us about.   You tell me…

When one can print their way to everything, I suppose everything is possible.  Problem is, this is not reality.  Americans must, sooner than later, face reality.  A subject about which they know little.  The price for learning will be terrible, and the cost will be more than we can bear.

I fear that nothing has changed.  Nothing is changing.  Nothing will change.

This bothers me a lot! Who are the PTBs protecting themselves from using “barrage ballons”? They didn’t do this after 911, is it some kind of psyop on their part or just fascist crony capitalism?

I don’t think it’s psyops. Like I said, I think that defense sales have just dropped off and they need to enhance their numbers. Then they blow smoke up our (the people) asses, to scare the ignorant masses of sheep. The largest money making factor in all media, since 911, has been fear. The mass marketing of fear. On the part of all forms of media, but always the government, itself.

Like Jamie, this bothers me and I have thought about it all day. The regime and Raytheon put out a convincing story line but I’m not buying it. We have satellites that are capable of detecting a missile launch at the instant it happens anywhere in the world, why in heavens name do we need WWII era blimps flying over Washington D.C.?! I’m sure U.S. Navy submarines are in the Atlantic Ocean monitoring anything in that AO along with undersea surveillance systems that have been in existence for several decades. Although we do not rely on these systems as heavily as during the Cold War, and they are no longer a big secret.

Maybe I’m all wet on this one but I feel there is more to this than we are being told!

You’re exactly right. This is either just more waste, or they are receiving legitimate chatter. Maybe even direct threats, or are getting ready to make moves that they fear will prompt some type of response. Hum… what could that be, I wonder? No black swans here…

I agree with either assessment of yours Soffitrat but I tend to lean more toward the ‘getting ready for some type of response’ scenario. A lot of other things have been pointing in that direction for some time also. I think this is a local defensive measure.

As you have said before Soffitrat…”the clock is ticking”.

Either way. We are becoming Fortress America.

And a mighty Fortress it is, a very expensive one too I might add! More weight piled onto the backs of broke, overburdened, taxpayers. Soffitrat you stated earlier in this thread this is “just more waste” and that is exactly what it is, so I believe it’s actually serving two purposes here. Both are deliberate and sinister in their object.

HOWEVER, I still take some comfort in what I feel is the fact that the present regime in OUR Capitol still fears the Freedom loving people of this country. Why else would they be paranoid enough to take such extreme measures they have taken of late to protect themselves?
