No doubt, Raytheon has done one hell of a sales job. No doubt some lobbyist has earned his money (10X’s over). I have no doubt this system will work well. But just when do we pay for and deploy such weaponry? Especially in an economy that is sinking like a rock?
The question is why, when in a state of peace, when our Navy permits Iranian speedboats to drive within range of a .308, when hostilities have not been declared, do we have these? Even more importantly, why have these flying over Washington D.C.?
Either we have received credible threats, of which the American people have not been apprised of, or I smell a defense industry making a great deal of money as our criminals in D.C. continue to ‘feed the beast’ that Eisenhower warned us about. You tell me…
When one can print their way to everything, I suppose everything is possible. Problem is, this is not reality. Americans must, sooner than later, face reality. A subject about which they know little. The price for learning will be terrible, and the cost will be more than we can bear.
I fear that nothing has changed. Nothing is changing. Nothing will change.
